Summary

JOB SUMMARY
Has overall responsibility for supervising the daily functions of the Food Safety and Quality of Grower Direct Facilities, Plant Micro Laboratory, Sanitation, Pest Control and Research and Development. Supervise QA/QC Technicians, Micro Technician, Quality Foreman and Sanitation Foreman.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Manage Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Research & Development department supervisors.
Enforces all of the organizations policies and procedures.
Direct the planning and implementation of quality control programs and procedures in order to ensure that Grower Direct Nut Company, Inc. processes and product complies with government regulations, meets customer requirements and company expectations, and achieves business goals.
Ensure QC team is following up with implementation of GMP, HACCP, HARPC, FDA, FSMA and BRC Procedures and Policies.
Must be PCQI Certified through FSPCA/FDA.
Visually inspect and audit QC, PC, SA, and RD team, documentation, and company adherence to GMP, HAACP, HARPC, FSMA, FDA, BRC, ISO and AOAC.
Monitor performance of department employees to ensure they follow established standards and procedures.
Responsible for all quality aspects of finished product (including, but not limited to packaging, specification, and overall product quality)
Record and maintain all QC, QA, Program compliance records
Monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company, BRC, customer and regulatory expectations.
Provide leadership for the company on technical issues to operation units, customers, and other plants.
Agility and innovation work with operational units to rectify and deficiencies identified in quality systems. Assuring the plant food safety plans are in place to assure food is safe for its intended use.
Initiate new quality systems to support developing business needs.
Direct the evaluation, development and training of department personnel to maintain a safe, competent and motivated workforce. Assist direct reports with appropriate coaching in order to build their skills and decision-making process.
Interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
o Will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.
o Will seldom sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
o Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
o Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
o Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 35 pounds frequently.
o Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 35 pounds.
o Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.
o Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute).
o Use of keyboard and mouse for extended period.

Work environment
o Will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
o Will Work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, risk of vibration.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge in HACCP, HARPC, GMP, BRC, FDA/USDA regulations
2. Ability to communicate and deal with a diverse staff in a professional manner.
3. Ability to organize work, multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
4. Knowledge of safety regulations, and some mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
5. Proven ability to lead and facilitate in a team environment and build consensus in a positive manner with customers and team members.
6. Proficiency in setting priorities and executing multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
7. Self-starter with strong leadership skills, a high degree of integrity and demonstrable results understanding of the business operating environment and customer needs to deliver results effectively.
