Position Summary:
The Physicians Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (midlevel practitioner), under Physician direction is responsible for performing medical examination, diagnosis common medical conditions, managing stable phases of chronic illness, coordinating health management and assisting the Clinic Physician in delivering care to patients. The Medical Director supervises the midlevel practitioners clinical practice. The midlevel practitioners reports to the Medical Director and the Director of the Clinics. This position may also function independently performing off-site physical examinations.
The Oak Valley Health Centers are looking for someone interested in 20 40 hours per week in the Riverbank Community Health Center, a Rural Health Clinic. This is a seven day per week clinic, 10 hour shifts. This position requires weekend shifts, and can be either part time or full time, depending on the candidates availability. Position Accountabilities:
The following are general job accountabilities
1. Under Physician direction, provides primary care services to clinic patients including prescribing, dispensing or transmitting medications in accordance with standardized procedures and current state regulations.
2 Provides general counseling, guidance, and health instructions to individual patients and family members.
3. Participates in the monthly medical staff meetings as required.
4. Assists the Medical Director and Staff Physicians in organizing and implementing appropriate quality assurance activities.
5. Works independently with minimum on-site supervision.
6. Functions as part of a team in the provision of patient-care and performance of daily activities.
7. May supervise health care professionals and paraprofessional staff.
8. May be assigned to work in any clinic (Riverbank, Oakdale, Escalon) according to OVHD policy.
9. Performs physical examinations off-site utilizing designated employer examination guidelines.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Physician Assistant: Physicians Assistant Certification at an accredited institution.
Nurse Practitioner: Satisfactory completion of a formal Nurse Practitioner Training Program.
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Physician Assistant: Current California Certification as a Physicians Assistant.
Nurse Practitioner: Current California Registered Nursing license and Nurse Practitioner Certificate
Masters level preferred or equivalent.
Current AHA BLS
